The Midwest Premier League and Troy United FC announced on Friday, Dec. 23 that TUFC have joined the MWPL for the upcoming 2023 season.
"We are super excited about joining the Midwest Premier League. We believe this league will serve as a wonderful home for us to grow our community," says Club President Louis Osowski. "Fantastic clubs such as Dekalb County United and Livonia City have served as an example for us since our inception; to join the same league is a dream."
"I’d like to thank our club volunteers, sponsors, and coaching staff for making this possible. We have guys with full time careers who come home from long days at work to do this and they are great examples of the passion we have at this club. I’d also like to thank Ben Rode for being a guiding presence for this transition and our club operations as a whole. We will be making exciting announcements in the upcoming days, be on the lookout."
After their inaugural season in the Michigan Premier Soccer League, Troy United is aiming to grow the club in all facets, especially on the playing field.
This step up to a more competitive league will not only help Troy become a stronger club for the future, but a place for players to grow as athletes and as part of the Troy community.
"Joining the MWPL is a huge step in the right direction for the club, in order to represent the Troy community and become a place for athletes to get to the next level," says Head Coach Kahner James. "I’m so excited to get the roster for this season put together and to help as many of our athletes achieve their goals as possible."
